Terms of Use
These are the rules for using CharlotteGigs, run by Brandon Noyes ("we", "us"). By using the site, you agree to them.
What CharlotteGigs is (and isn't)
- We provide a place to post gigs and apply to them. The person who posts a gig and the person who takes it make their own arrangements: pay, schedule, taxes, insurance, licenses and safety.
- We are not an employer, staffing agency or party to any agreement between posters and workers. We don't guarantee that any gig is real, safe, legal or paid, or that any applicant is qualified.
- We don't run background checks. Meet in safe places and trust your instincts.
Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old. You're responsible for your account and anything posted from it. Keep your email or phone number up to date, since that's how you sign in.
Posting gigs
When you post a gig, you agree that:
- It's a real opportunity for work in or near Charlotte County, and the details are accurate.
- The pay you list is what you intend to pay, and you'll follow applicable wage and tax laws.
- It doesn't discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or any other protected characteristic.
- You won't charge applicants any fee, or ask for money, gift cards, bank details or other sensitive financial information.
- It isn't a multi-level marketing scheme, a "work from home" pay promise, check-cashing or reshipping scheme, or anything illegal, adult or unsafe.
- You give us permission to display your gig on CharlotteGigs and in search results (such as Google for Jobs) while it's live.
Gigs are free to post and stay up for 30 days unless you take them down or mark them filled sooner.
Applying to gigs
- When you apply, the poster receives your name, your message, and the email and/or phone number on your account, so they can contact you.
- Be honest about your experience and availability.
- Never pay anyone to apply or get hired. If a poster asks for money, report it with the "Report this gig" link on the gig's page.
Things you can't do
- Post false, misleading, spammy or duplicate gigs.
- Harass, threaten or scam anyone you meet through the site.
- Use other people's contact details, or collect users' information for other purposes.
- Try to break, overload or get around the site's security or limits.
We may review, hold, edit or remove any gig, and suspend or close any account, if we believe it breaks these rules or puts people at risk. We may do this without notice.
Text messages
If you give us your phone number, you agree to receive text messages from CharlotteGigs: sign-in codes and updates about your gigs and applications. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help, or email brandon@charlottegigs.com. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your number.
No warranties
CharlotteGigs is provided "as is" and "as available." We don't promise the site will always be available or error-free, or that you'll find work or workers through it.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we're not liable for anything that happens between posters and workers, including unpaid work, injuries, property damage or disputes, or for any indirect or consequential losses from using the site. If we are found liable for anything, our total liability is limited to $100.
Florida law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts serving Charlotte County, Florida.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms. If we make important changes, we'll update the date below and let account holders know. Continuing to use the site means you accept the updated terms. Questions or reports? Email brandon@charlottegigs.com.
